ASOS Spring/Summer 2011

The Ivy League and preppy style saw itself worm its way back into the limelight and wardrobes of the high street to the avant-garde style conscious male in 2010 and doesn’t seem to be planning on going away again anytime soon.

For spring/summer 2011 the staple of any preppy look takes centre stage, the letterman jacket. A versatile piece of outerwear that has truly stood the test of time that can be adapted to any modern outfit.

For spring/summer 2011 Lavenham Jackets have produced a unique take on the Letterman jacket called the Hazel Jacket, a lighter quilted alternative take on a design classic.

Button through and contrast sleeves tick all the familiar boxes that make up the perfect letterman style jacket.

Lavenham have got their prep down to a tee.

UPDATE: He Doesn't Care How Much Snow There is...

He doesn't care if its the biggest snow storm of your life or just a flurry, there is absolutely no place on earth or anything called a "Snowjogger" aka "Big Foot" (not a name He made up). These things are like snow moon boots, and no one better be wearing moon boots either. Yea, yea, He gets it some of you will wear anything if its pink, but for the love of the ArmHe just say no!

Asos Holiday Campaign

The new ASOS Holiday 2010 campaign was shot by notable portrait, interiors, and fashion photographer and illustrator Todd Selby, following the classic idea of individuals in their own personal space, in this case, “Model’s Own.”

He Warned You About This...

Ya know He is a big ASOS fan, they have at one of great stuff, but in recent weeks they are really messing things up. First it was this Swirl Catsuit then it was the Mini Dress and Puff Bodysuit now He brings you the Evil Twin Prisoner Of Today Crop Cage Top. First off, this is not a crop top. No way, No How. Even the model in the picture doesn't know what kind of facial expression to give. "Am I in a cage?" Should I smile?" If I only had a brain!" Stay away for your own good.

It's a SHEER Invasion...

Sheer is everywhere, and the one person you will not hear complaining is He. It can be a little sheer (pic1-asos) it can be a lot of sheer (pic 2-asos, pic 3-revolve) any sheer is good sheer. Hell summer is almost over get in the sheer while it's still hot enough to wear little to nothing underneath.

ASOS: Combining Retail and Traditional Tailoring

Established in June 2000, ASOS is the United Kingdom’s largest independent online fashion and beauty retailer and is quickly becoming the market leader in the online fashion world. The website carries over 800 branded labels to include See by Chloe, Surface to Air, Dagmar and Penfield—all new for AW10.

Its own ASOS label is best celebrated for its fashion credibility and price points. For autumn/winter 2010, ASOS reveals a menswear collection consolidating masculine dressing with two very different trends.

Nomad and Rebel traverse the boundaries between 50s styling and the great outdoors, whilst Smart takes traditional tailoring and adds homespun charm through a mixture of fabrications and textures. Welcome to the new season…

Nomad treads a grungier, outdoor path. Knitwear is the key to this trend and includes bold cable knits, Navajo intarsia, and jacquard. Chinos are revitalized in both twill and in brighter colors over-dyed. Outerwear has an outdoors feel including a short parka and heavier jackets.

The palette is brighter and bolder. Chinos appear in wine and royal blue, whilst graphics add to the effect. This is underscored by a neutral base of cream, beige and grey, all designed to be mixed up and worn together.

Underscoring the two trends is a new take on tailoring. Smart mixes traditional tailoring into the modern wardrobe and includes different fabrications which are made to be worn alongside everyday items such as denim. The blazer is key, be it in check or herringbone, and outerwear is extended with new features, including double breasted styles, shawl collars, and Check Crombie coats.

Rebel plunders youth cults and veers into 50s territory, mixing collegiate styling with the UK indie underground. The skinny jean remains ubiquitous but wardrobe staples, such as the biker jacket, now come in grey check.

The shirt is key, but studded collars and plackets nod to rock and roll influences. With this collection detail is key and, at times, unexpected.

The palette is dark and subdued. Navy, black, charcoal, and ecru form the foundation but flashes of color emerge through accessories. Even animal print used on shirts and knitwear appears in shades of grey.

Accessories complement the trends. Nomad encourages Navajo decoration and styling on deck shoes and scarves, whilst Rebel sees tartan and check emerge on hats and knitted scarves.

Pencil Skirts...Yes Secretary!

Pencil skirts are the quickest way to bring some sex into the office environment. For a skirt that covers a lot of skin, the fact that they are so tight adds appeal nontheless. Need a good outfit for the office, bam, here it is. Just be ready for some heads to turn. Also try out some high waisted ones as well, all He approved. (pics asos.com)

ASOS F*cked Up Again!

He is sure it is ever girls dream to get one of these Aqua Colour Block Swirl Catsuit from ASOS.
Is this an outfit you wear alone? Is there something you are suppose to wear with it? For all the good ASOS does, they really screwed the pooch on this one.

What were they thinking...ASOS

He better not catch you in either of these items from ASOS. Typically they have pretty good stuff on their site, He approve material. But it seems they have gotten a little crazy lately and started putting up some really weird sh*t. First, the Aqua Puffball Sleeve Body Suit, what in the world is this thing! Why would anyone want a puff ball hanging off their arm? The other crappy item is the Aqua Contrast Cups Mini Dress, almost looks like the dress version of the shirts from Mean Girls. Not a good look for a dress. "Hey everyone star at my boobs because they have ugly black cloth over them!" Not the way to go on either item.

Shoe of the Week...ASOS

He was browsing through ASOS the other day, and found these two, but couldn't decided which to feature. Since He is King afterall, He made the bold decision to feature both, how about that.

The top heel is the ASOS BLACK BOOM Leather & Stingray Wedge with one of the biggest heel heights ever featured on Fashion by HE at 6.2" and a 2.2" platform height. Ending the story right there how could they not be He approved. Besides that they have a snake skin like bottom and a suede like top. That's enough info to want to buy them by He's standards.

The bottom heel is the ASOS BLACK BLUSH Leather Platform Shoe that just looks like a cool heel. Some heels just have that it factory, this is one of those types. 5.8" heel and 1.8" platform. He thinks platforms are all the range with heels this day, supposedly makes it easier to walk or whatever, not something He really gives a sh*t about, but hey if it helps women wear heels more often go for it.
-He

P.S. He hasn't really done any guest blogging lately, so if you are interested in having He come write a post for your blog send a topic/idea of what you want He to write about to fashionbyhe@gmail.com if He likes your idea, He'll come write a post for your blog! He will choose more than one if the ideas are good! Better Follow He if you want to be considered!

Shoe of the Week...ASOS PEBBLE

What is better then Spring, then a hot Springtime heel. ASOS calls these colors pink and blue, but it looks more orange and grey. Of course besides the cool color, their height drew He's attention - 5.11" heel and a 1.7" platform. Suede shoe with an thick contrast elastic strap, something different. The ASOS Pebble Suede Elastic Front Shoe has got to be added to the Spring Collection. (sorry could not post a link, as blogger was messed up)

Cut Out Dresses...Never Good

It doesn't matter how amazing of a body you might have, there is never an appropriate time for a side cut out style dress. The only reason your dress should be cut up is if you just got into a fight with a wood chopper (odds of this happening are not very good). He has been hearing that a lot of high school and college kids are starting to pick up on this trend, not a good idea ladies. There is good skin to show off and bad, this is obviously bad skin. The cut out dress has to be one of the most unattractive outfits you can wear when playing dress up. Show your back, show legs, show arms, show shoulder, but to show small parts of your sides, isn't doing it for He. (pics asos)

Shoe of the Week...ASOS

It's a jungle out there. With these ASOS PRISCILLA you can be king of the jungle. With both leopard and zebra print available, these studed heels are hot. With a soaring heel hieght of 5.75" and some extra platform lift at 1.75". These will have you standing well above the crowd.
