PR: Christopher and Ivy

To the bitter end, kittens. To the bitter end.

It's a good thing Christopher's so cute.

Model: Rose

Because he is boring us out of our seats.

And before you pelt us with garbage and cries of "This is a really cute dress!" consider this:

Mentally remove that belt.

Not so impressive now, is it?

The overall effect is cute and the styling is nice, but once again we're seeing almost nothing in terms of design.

Unconventional materials challenges are when you're supposed to wow them with your creativity and innovation. A standard-issue cocktail dress doesn't fit the bill.

Tim Gunn's Workroom:

We almost thought she was getting the winner's edit because so much attention was paid to her struggle to finish her design.

Model: Ekaterina

Of course, the very second Ekaterina tried it on we knew there was no way in hell this was going to win anything.

Which is kind of a shame because, while we don't love this dress...

The basic design is cute. Very much in the Marchesa mold.

The problem here is so obvious that we feel like we don't even have to point it out. But we will: for some reason, she made this dress about 3 sizes too large for her model. We're not even sure how that happened. She started with a muslin dress and then attached all her frippery to that, so fit really shouldn't have been an issue. It's one thing if all the gewgaws added volume and bulk, but look at the picture: she's swimming in that thing. Kind of a strange issue to have. We've seen plenty of too-tight clothes on this show, but we rarely ever see a designer accidentally make a plus-sized dress.
