Max Tan Fall 2010 Collection
We recently stumbled across the Fall 2010 collection of Singapore-based designer Max Tan and we can't stop thinking about it. It's always fun to highlight the big names in fashion: Kors, Jacobs, Von Furstenberg, Versace - whoever, but it's so much more rewarding to take the time and take a stroll off the beaten path. To take a look at design that challenges you or just stops you in its tracks with its strange beauty.
Here's what he has to say about his fall 2010 collection:
‘Against’ – This collection pushes the boundaries of what is deemed right and wrong. It challenges how garments can be differently constructed, how “wrong” details and tailoring methods can be deemed to seem right. Strict sharp lines and proper drafting rules are thrown out the window. Combined with draping techniques, the sumptuous use of fabrics put together a monochromatic collection filled with international accidents made aesthetically ‘right’ . What’s unseen is now seen, what was once wrong is now made right. The end result is a series of beautiful mistakes. What is right? What is wrong? Would you rather be right or free?"
Enjoy.
