Christina Aguilera and Cher at the Los Angeles premiere of "Burlesque"
held at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
Y'know, that picture caption is all wrong. It should read "MOTHERFUCKING CHER (with fan) at the Los Angeles premiere of "Burlesque" held at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles." Because one of these ladies looks like the legend she is and the other one looks like she won a contest to be there.held at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
The dress is okay. A little prom-y, but okay. It's that freaking HAIR. What is up with the "1974 Country Music Awards" look? And someone needs to take her aside and inform her of the Rule of Heavy Makeup: You can wear it heavy when you're really young and look hardcore and sexy. You can wear it when you're old to smooth out some of Mother Nature's harsh bitchiness. But when you wear it heavy in the in-between years, you just look a little trashy.
Y'know, we are starting to fall in love with that old broad all over again. As always, breaking every rule in the book (A miniskirt! In her sixties!) and looking damn fine doing it. The Cher of 30 or even 20 years ago probably would have considered this a pretty boring look, but it's as close to "classic" as this gal's ever gonna get.
Is anyone going to see this movie? We don't know if it's going to fall under "camp classic" or "public disaster." Or maybe it'll be both. A "Showgirls" for the 21st Century.
