Okay, stop right there, Mary. We have one thing to say to that: Bitch, please. We love Gaga, but we HATE the way the press talks about her, as if she's anything more than a savvy pop singer. "New York's greatest gift to pop culture and fashion." What nonsense. But please, continue:

Gag. That sounds like the LiveJournal entry of a sassy gay 16-year-old. Still, we joke because we love - and we love these pictures. Really we do. We almost didn't recognize Marc in pants and not greased up. Dressing Gaga as Lady Liberty was an inspired idea, even if the actual costume isn't as fabulous as it could have been.
Check out the rest of the pages, with famous models like Debbie Harry, Chloe Sevigny, Lady Bunny and others, none of whom are "beacons of the city's creativity and hope," apparently.
