Fashion Model: PR: Congratulations!

YAY! Again!

Y'know, we're not always on board with the idea that the designers are overworked and don't get enough time to complete their looks. To us, that's the point of the show; to get a bunch of creative and talented people to jump through hoops just to see what they can come up with.

"Advertorial" is a silly word, but we actually liked the challenge. Designers, especially on their way up the ladder, are going to have to do these types of things in order to stay in the game (see: Christian Siriano and every single contractual obligation he's undertaken since winning PR).

But this tendency to add drama by - GASP! FORCING THEM TO MAKE AN OTHER OUTFIT - is not as interesting a twist as the producers seem to think.

MAKE MORE is not a design challenge, it's just more work.

And the results of such overloading become obvious on the runway because there was a whole lot of ass walking that thing.

So, Congrats to Mondo! Again!

Truth be told, we didn't love this look. We agreed with the win, but we think he got it by default.

What we loved: the hat and the fabric choices.

We want to love that skirt, and we admit it's a pretty impressive bit of construction, but it was so stiff and so obviously...constructed, if that makes any sense.

There was no sense of flow or drape to the thing; everything felt hammered into place and it barely moved as she walked.

Also, that black panel in the front just seemed to sort of hang there and the hem stopped at a weird point.

The bodice was equally confusing and stiff. We could have done without the houndstooth.

We could have accepted the stiff bodice if the skirt wasn't already so stiff. But since this was an outfit designed to only be photographed, it was a pretty good way to go. It may have been stiff, but the point wasn't movement, it was impact. In that sense, mission accomplished.

His "couture" look may have been the winner by default, but this RTW look was leaps and bounds better than anyone else's.

For all his affectations and weirdness, at the end of the day Mondo makes really cute, really feminine clothes for young women.

This isn't shockingly innovative in any way. What it is, is stylish and classic and graphic.

With a sense of fun to it. He doesn't make "serious girl" clothes.

Although wouldn't "Serious Girl" be a great name for a line?

The fit and execution are flawless.

Love the little belt.

LOVE the buttons, which are a nice and subtle detail you don't notice at first.

No, he definitely would have been our pick for the win. We had issues with the high end look but it no one else came close. The RTW was just perfect. Again, no one else came close.

Too bad he didn't have stiffer competition, though. Like we said, whole lotta ASS on that runway.
