Peter Som Spring 2011 Collection

Groovy.

Not just the past couple of seasons, but the past couple of years, color really hasn't been seen much on the runway. If we saw it at all, it seemed to be in the supporting role to pale neutrals or black. We're ready for a return to color and it looks like Peter Som is too. We really love this collection. Peter has an amazing sense of color and prints and he really went to town this time. We love the 60's vibe and the juxtaposition of fabrics, like the unexpected patches of tweed on the bright "popsicle" colors and the top of the collars barely peeking out.

We also loved the styling for the show. A simple plain pretty that goes well with the clothes but doesn't fight them for attention. We even like the strappy little platform shoes (by Charlotte Olympia) in Easter basket colors; a perfect match for a collection that doesn't so much scream "Spring" as it does quietly assert it.
