Y'know, we really had to talk this out over coffee today. We had a little Oprah moment and sat down on the couch together to hash this one out. Afterwards, we gave each of our cats a new car and a trip to Australia.
Our thing is this: we kept looking at these pics and hemming and hawing and not quite committing one way or the other. Was there any aspect of this look we really dislike? No, not really. Are there things we like? Yes; we like the shoes and the dress itself, so long as she's standing or sitting still, is pretty dolce-vita fabulous. But it's definitely not an easy dress to wear. One sneeze and the whole thing changes shape.
In the end, we decided thus: The look, from the hair down to the shoes, is sleek and continental and for the most part, well put together. It gets an IN. The reason it took us so long to commit is because, to be perfectly blunt, January Jones couldn't work a dress if it came with illustrated instructions. She's a beautiful woman, but she's no clotheshorse, no matter how hard she tries. She needs to be sent away to drag camp, where 7 foot tall men in 5 inch heels can spend a month or two teaching her the meaning of "workin' it."
