Sam Page for August Man Magazine

Not so creepy.

Weep for Sam Page. He's a current cast member of the most-talked-about show of the moment, playing a character that everyone loves to hate, and it seems like no one ever mentions the name of the actor playing him. To millions of viewers, he's Dr. Greg Harris, the husband of Joan Holloway Harris of Mad Men, but he's probably more often just referred to as "Creepy Greg." Worst of all, so off-putting is the character of Greg Harris, so mistrusted and reviled is he by the fandom of the show, that one important fact is overlooked, possibly the most important fact of all.

Sam Page is a stone cold fox.

In the September issue of August Man magazine, Sam gets the old interview-and-editorial treatment. He gets to talk about the pitfalls of playing such a hated character and he gets to turn himself out in 2010 finery, which we have to say, suits him well (pun kind of intended).

On playing bad guys:
"I like play them especially because the real me is quite the opposite. It is always more fun to play something that is a departure from who you really are."

On the rape scene:
"Matt Wiener took me aside after the read through to talk to me about the scene, to make sure I wasn't upset or uncomfortable, and to tell me what the scene was for the show."

"The day before we shot, he took aside me again to talk about the scene, telling me he didn't want the rape to be about anger or hurting Joan, but it was more about sexual insecurities of men like Greg in a time of social change."

"What made the scene much easier to do, albeit even more f***** up and sad, is that he wanted Greg to do what he did thinking that he was being what Joan wanted."

On his personal style:

"I am a total sneaker-phile. T-shirts and some dope kicks. However, I do absolutely love to wear a beautiful suit. There's nothing better than a crisp, well tailored suit."

It seems to us that Sam is the opposite of so many of his Mad Men castmates. Unlike Jon Hamm, January Jones and Christina Hendricks, he doesn't look better in the period clothes. Not to our eyes, at least. Seriously, we could tell the actor was good looking enough but he looks hot as hell here.
