Fashion Model: PR: Top Two

It's a parade of WTFery, kittens.

Val, we love ya girl and truth be told, we're rooting for you, but this:

This, we cannot get behind.

There's a bit of a trap with this "hat." It practically screams for some sort of dramatic, shimmering Grand Masquerade kind of ball gown and yet if she chose to go that route she would have been slammed for being unoriginal.

But this is so far away from the tone and style of the mask that we can't even say what a bold and original choice it is. It's too far off for that. At least to us.

It doesn't help that we just don't like the style of the outfit, with or without the mask. We hate the weird volume on the skirt, as well as the hem.

And we're not too keen on the racerback or the weird zipper. What was with the weird back zippers this week?

We're also not crazy about the unusually broad neckline.

In case you haven't figured it out, we're just not crazy about, well, any part of this outfit. It's not the worst thing we've ever seen, but we honestly thought she was in the bottom 3 when they called her name. Even Philip Treacy was all, "You stone cold bitches is crazy. That shit is fucked up." Or words to that effect.

We had a lot of doubts about this one when we saw it on the dress form.

But we were pretty impressed when we saw it on the runway.

What had us worried was the idea of mimicking the lines of the hat in the neckline. We were afraid it was going to come off way too literal and overpowering.

But we were wrong. It worked really well, framing her face in a beautiful and unusual manner.

We also liked his choices of fabrics and the way he used them, the stiffness and structural qualities of the top vs. the deeply textured and flowy bottom.
