Cute.
Not cute.
Don't hate us, kittens. We didn't agree with the judges about scoring this one on the bottom. To our eyes, it was another of Christopher's middle of the road entries, with a couple points added for trying to bump up the drama a bit.
Let's break this down:
We actually liked the coat quite a bit.
The collar's a little strange, but we think it worked as a sort of echo of what the hat's doing.
The Kors-a-Tron 3000 Quipulator declared this fabric "couch," but we think she was just being a little bit of a bitch at that point. The fabric is gorgeous. An excellent starting point for the design. So, yes. Great coat.
Awful everything else. Both the boots and the belt were bad styling choices. Too heavy, too focus-pulling, considering everything else that was going on.
And man, was there a lot going on. We were shocked when this hit the runway. Why would you have matching leggings and skirt under a coat like that? And why in that color? She's way too monochromatic.
A very puzzling entry. Great starting point and then a total fizzle out. He would have been better just pairing the coat with a pair of black skinny pants.

A lot of T LOunge denizens thought April should have gone home for her diaper monstrosity.
Model: Millana
We disagree. Squint your eyes and do some imaginary Photoshopping. Turn the white diaper into a pair of black formal shorts. Hold that thought.
Our point is, unlike Kristin, she had the germ of an idea and it was a pretty good one. It was smart of her to look at that hat and think "resort wear."
Because 1) It's a perfect use for the hat, and 2) it wasn't likely that anyone else was going to attempt resort wear.
In addition, we really liked the vest. It wasn't perfectly executed but it was a nice, eye-catching, original design.

Were the quilted panties a horrible idea? Absolutely. So horrible that she deserved her spot in the bottom 3. She was warned away from them by both Tim and some of the other designers, but she wouldn't listen.
And seriously, April: a back door on this thing? Très gauche. And she should have realized very early on that her three-fabric technique was not looking polished at all. Nor did the panties fit correctly.
But we stand by what we said, a matching pair of black formal shorts would have turned this from bottom 3 to possibly top 3 (if only for the originality of it). She had the proportions right; she just insisted on using the wrong material.
Still, we're glad she didn't go. We'll take "almost a good idea" over no idea at all, which is basically what Kristin produced.
