We're enjoying Andy's various disguises, but "Thug Andy" probably isn't going to catch on. Just sayin'.
After wowing the judges last week, Andy took his immunity and decided to use it to make a totally cliche look that makes his model look 40 years older and 30 pounds heavier. An interesting tactic, but one that's doomed to fail, we're afraid.
Seriously, kittens. This is awful.
So awful that it just might be one of the worst entries by a designer with immunity ever. Look at that ridiculous clutch! Who carries a bag in the same material as their dress? Who besides Barbie, we mean.
And that horribly overwhelming collar!
With a hat that's already overwhelming. Honestly, the design choices here were so bad and so counter-intuitive that we're thinking he should have been in the bottom.
All the couture poses in the world can't disguise that this is an old lady suit in pink satin with insane proportions all over it.
Tim Gunn's Workroom:
Casanova continues to impress us both with his range, which could be described as "erratic" and his complete refusal to listen to any sort of guidance or to follow the dictates of the challenge. And we don't think language has anything to do with it. Casanova does whatever he wants to. Tim was dead on when he compared to 1988 Donna Karan. Casanova ignored him and continued on.
Granted, it's elegantly done.
And it's entirely appropriate for the hat.
But it's so done. So done that it's been ripped off countless times over the years.
He criticized Michael C's dress by saying every girl in Puerto Rico had that dress in her closet Well Casanova, every woman over the age of 45 had this dress in her closet. Not just the DK original but the thousands of lower priced knockoffs over the years. Not a bottom 3 because it's well done and appropriate, but from a design perspective it's a total loser.
