We want to be very, very careful here. You see, despite their sometimes overwhelming self-importance, stars are actually quite skittish creatures. Like marmosets. We always hear people in the know say that starlets rarely ever wear prints because so much can go wrong and they just can't bear the criticism. That's true, a lot CAN go wrong with a print. On the other hand, sack up, ho. So someone said your ten thousand dollar borrowed dress was unflattering. That doesn't really rate a place on the pain scale.
So, having said that, Julia, who almost never wears prints on the RC is sporting quite the busy one here. Sorry, Julia. We realize this may send you running to your solid gold bed to cry on your bags of money, but this dress doesn't flatter you in the slightest. There is no way in hell she's as wide and dumpy as the dress makes her appear. In addition, you should fire your stylist, not because of the dress, but because of the shoes. You're standing on a stage or platform, above the photographers, which means the shoes are going to be prominent in most of the shots. We don't have anything against green wedges in theory; we just think they were a terrible choice for this dress. Pick up one of the purples or yellows in the dress, or hell, take a ride over to the opposite side of the color wheel. Just please, don't pair green shoes with a dress that's a totally different shade of green. It's not good.
As for hair and makeup, we're giving it a pass. This is a press conference, not a red carpet. She looks a little disheveled but we're going to chalk that up to jet lag.
This is a long way of saying she is OUT, for wearing a dress that doesn't flatter her and by pairing a focus-pulling dress with an equally if not more focus-pulling pair of shoes.
