In or Out: Elisabeth Moss

"My name is Peggy Olson and I want to wear a really tight dress."

Later she met up with Mad Men buddies at the 2010 Entertainment Weekly and Women In Film Pre-Emmy party sponsored by L'Oreal Paris.

This is a textbook "My marriage just ended after 9 months" look. Lizzie's feeling the need to go out in something tight. And it's a great dress. We wish she'd get away from the grays because they don't always help her washed-out coloring, but at least she managed not to look matronly here and that's a step in the right direction. The hair? It wouldn't have been our recommendation (the gal needs to look into soft bangs), but it's a hell of a sight better than anything we've seen in that department.

We don't know, though. Between the pale coloring, almost total lack of jewelry and nude shoes, it almost looks like a dress hanging in mid air. Definitely a step in the right direction but could have been tweaked a bit in the detailing for maximum effect. Also, the hem could be an inch higher.

And let's just settle something about nude shoes. We keep hearing "But I LIKE my nude shoes!" whenever we criticize someone for wearing them on the RC. Honeys, we have nothing against nude shoes. We're poking fun at the narrowness of the red carpet. You see, some time in 2006 or so, some stylist decided that huge, angry beartrap shoes were just the thing and for the next 3 and a half years, EVERYONE on the red carpet was wearing the damn things, whether it suited them or not; whether they went with the dress or not. Now we're seeing the same thing with nude shoes. Some stylist read something in a fashion mag and now they all think that every dress for every occasion calls for a nude shoe. To be fair, it wasn't a bad choice for this particular dress, but we still reserve the right to point and laugh at the desperate trend-whoring that goes on with stylists.

Anyway, this is a longwinded way of saying she didn't quite stick the dismount, but Lizzie's in pretty good form nonetheless. IN.
