Gone are the studs and chains and gewgaws and ankle-snapping heels. These are downright sedate for Christian. We think that's probably a smart move on his part. We have no inside information but we imagine these Payless collections help foot the bill for his more ambitious projects and it would make sense for him to tone things down a bit to find the widest customer base possible. We like those strappy heels quite a bit. We're not completely sold on peep-toe ballet flats, though. Check out the rest of the collection at the link. We suspect the most common criticism will be that they look cheap but that's kind of the point. If he was selling shoes like this at Sak's for 300 bucks a pair, that would be a valid criticism, but this is Payless, bitches. We tend to think of them as disposable shoes for a disposable price, although, granted, at prices ranging from $29.99 to $49.99, your mileage may vary.
