Dolce & Gabbana and Madonna Sunglasses

Oh, what the hell. Let's talk Madge. And for once, we're not gonna criticize.

Madge and her two favorite Italian gays are at it again:

"Dolce&Gabbana and Madonna present MDG: the first sunglass collection personally designed by the singer in collaboration with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana with the first six styles planned for a May 2010 launch."

We like. Of course, there's not much chance of us ever hating a pair of D&G sunglasses, so there's that.

But wait, what's this?

"Madonna will be the face of the MDG ad campaign. Shot in New York by Steven Klein, the campaign features Madonna as the mysterious and sensual star of a noir film caught on camera in the company of an intriguing man played by super model Tyson Ballou. To lend a cinematographic feel, the campaign was shot with a video camera and the snapshots appear as frames of a short film while the layout of the prints recalls that of an old-fashioned movie film. The voyeuristic images metaphorically evoke the essence of a star such as Madonna: admired, spied, adored, pursued and desired, but never fully revealed, shrouded as she is in dark glasses and mystery."

It's pure vintage Madonna all the way. We're not even gonna hate. This is her image, locked in for all eternity. At least the shots are arresting and interesting.

Backstage photos:

Personally (and we've gone on and on about this before) we were hoping Madonna would be doing something a little more interesting in her 50s than making out with models in bathrooms, but like we said, we like the images. If there's one thing Madge can do (besides selling herself) it's having her picture taken. Bitch can definitely strike a pose.
