Naomi Watts attends the 'You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger' Premiere held at the Palais des Festivals during the 63rd Annual International Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France wearing a Gucci Première gown.
We just read over the weekend that she's slated to do a Marilyn Monroe biopic and frankly, that sounds like terrible casting to us. Nothing against Naomi here but she looks absolutely nothing like Marilyn and when you're playing an icon whose face is known by pretty much everyone everywhere, you should at least try to find someone with a similar facial structure (not to mention she's got a 21st Century skinny body and she's about 5 years older than Marilyn was when she died). Michelle Williams is also slated for a Marilyn biopic (did Hollywood suddenly remember that she once existed?) and that's a casting that intrigues, partially because Michelle brings an intelligence to her roles and partially because, from a bone structure perspective, you can see how it might work, with the right hair and makeup.
Anyway, this is all a nakedly obvious way of getting you all to talk about something in the comments section because to be honest, we don't have much to say about this look. It's pretty. It's eye-catching. We love the way the lines and angles look on her body.
On the other hand, we will never understand how women who have money and access to the most talented and sought-after hair people go around with fried, straw-colored hair that looks like she hit the discount aisle at the CVS for her hair color. Also, also: that lipstick is probably too red for the look. A softer lip color (with a little more color around the eyes) would have made the look more cohesive. As it is, when you first look at her you see this: lips, then hair, then dress. That's a little backwards.
Still, we do love that dress and despite the fried hair, she looks elegant. IN.
