Just a pretty little ingenue posing for pictures in a cute dress, right? WRONG. What we see here is a red carpet DISASTER. Let's break it down.
To be fair, it IS a cute dress--on the model. Amanda has established a pretty good red carpet track record for herself so far, so we're inclined to believe that the problem isn't her. She knows how to wear clothes. No, it's the dress. On paper, it should all work for her, but this looks like one of those dresses that only looks good if you're posed a certain way and shot a certain way. In these pictures, it looks a little clumsy and ill-fitting, especially around the hips and butt. Okay, so there's that.
Then there are the accessories. We sort of agree that the accessories were just kind of non-existent. Boring black shoes and a bunch of bracelets and a pair of earrings you barely notice. The dress is relatively plain, and Amanda's got such striking features and coloring, that there were a million more interesting ways to go in the accessories area to punch it all up and pull it all together.
And finally, there's the hair and makeup, which we're not in agreement on. Tom thinks the makeup looks fine and suits her well, but Lorenzo thinks the eye makeup is too heavy on her. We both think the hair is a little flat and under-styled. So there. You only thought she looked cute.
OUT.
