Who's a total Dan fan?
Daniel's all about shape and structure as well as being all about separates. There are some interesting silhouettes here and he loves necklines apparently, because he offers a totally different one for each look. If we have any criticisms, it's that we can't say we love the fabrics he chose, especially since marble prints have been done a lot, and we think that, though he's clearly a thoughtful designer, he can tend toward the overthought, especially in the embellishments. We like when he veers off into minimalism and some of these looks have a pleasing communist-bloc austerity to them. Others are, as we said, a little overthought. We think Daniel would do great with a design partner to balance him out; a Schouler to his Proenza, if you will.
Season 2 Project Runway finalist and All-Star Challenge winner Daniel Vosovic showed his Fall '10 collection and unsurprisingly, it's heavy on the sportswear and separates. He created the prints including the marble ones; and was inspired by studying the aging process of oxidized copper, broken marble and other materials.
