As promised He brings you the first edition of FashionHELP by He. Meet Katie, she hails from Boston, MA and needs some fashion help. He has reviewed her email and pictures and has provided some simple tips Katie and many others can use to bring their styles up to He standards.
"I have BORING clothes and boring fashion sense. Solid v neck sweaters, cardigans, button down shirts for work, some skirts, knee high boots, some scarves. Weekend attire - more of the same- 3/4 and long sleeve shirts - mostly SOLIDS. Main colors : green. white. black. some blue. some red. I lean more towards preppy than super stylish but need a change or some tips! Can you help?"
Here are the changes He would like to see Katie make. Leave your comments with more tips for Katie.
-Switch up the work outfits with some skirts and dresses. In addition to pants, a pencil skirt, or a mid lenth dress can really break up the monotony of black pants. High waisted skirts are also very popular right now, see if you can get some skirts/dresses in other brighter colors too. Try dresses in some other colors and designs.
-Get acessories. Long necklaces, bangels, bracelets and rings are small items that can really take an outfit to the next level. Don't be afraid to get some jewerly with color in it. Long necklaces are very popular right now and a good way to draw attention to your chest.
-Jeans. Old Navy isn't the only store that sells jeans. Take off the blue jeans with the relaxed fit look. Darker colors will help you look sleeker, try a black or a dark blue. Also pick up some tight cigarette style jeans, paired with heels, they will make your legs long longer and slimmer.
-Heels are a girls best friend, or at least they should be. You need more then one pair. He's motto is "The higher, the better." Step outside your comfort zone, and get a 4" heel, you look and feel better. He posts a "Shoe of the Week" check it out and start to get a feel of what's stylish. Having different color heels to switch into is a great idea to.
-Chunky belts. Oversized belts are in style right now, and will help the waist look smaller. Adding a belt might seem like a small change, but can have big impacts on the outfit. Match it with a skirt or a pair of dark jeans and instantly you will see the bold change in your look.
-Get a boyfriend blazer. Makes for a great going out outfit. Roll up the sleeves for a laid back look. Solid shirt and a necklace pair with dark jeans and your ready for a night out.
-Stay away from the horizontal stripes. They give the appearance of looking wider, which of course no one really wants. Go with vertical stripes if anything, they will help make your upper body look longer and thinner.
-Throw out the dirty flat shoes. They look gross.
