Potipoti—a Paradise Island in Berlin

Potipot is a paradise island of white sands and crystal waters, just off the coast of the Philippines. The natural beauty of this enchanting island has inspired many surfers, even of the web, including Spanish designers Silvia Salvador and Nando Cornejo, who in 2005 launched their studio label Potipoti.

Silvia and Nando first met while studying Fine Arts in Salamanca, Spain, one most spectacular Renaissance cities in Europe whose buildings radiate with a golden glow. The city is also home to the second university in the world, founded in 1218 by King Alfonso IX of León. History records that even Christopher Columbus, upon returning to Spain, lectured there on his discoveries!

After graduation, Silvia and Nando hoisted their anchors for the big city, Madrid. Then in 2001, the duo set their sails, this time for the cooler, more agreeable temperatures of Berlin, where they have been based ever since.

Manufacturing their collections in Spain and Portugal, Silvia and Nando display all the talent of graphic artists in their collections as they combine geometric shapes, hints of folklore, and the surroundings of Berlin.

Their 2009 s/s collection is entitled "the Potipot Island," which sails us to white shores and sparkling seas of the Pacific; while the 2009 a/w collection named "Berlin Closer" takes us to a place not only nearer to Silvia and Nando but also closer to their hearts.
