Ljung—Small Town, Young Boy & Big Dreams Come True

Sweden—a Nordic country of roughly 9 million inhabitants situated on the Scandinavian Peninsula and sharing a land border with Norway and Finland. But what does Sweden mean to you?

To some, the mention of Sweden conjures up romantic images of axe-girded Vikings in horned helmets raiding the medieval seas in oared longships.

To others, Sweden shares an artistic connotation, representing the upbeat tunes of ABBA, existential films by Ingmar Bergman, and great classics with Greta Garbo.

For many, Sweden stands for big business, such as IKEA and Volvo.

As for fashion and apparel, seaports around the globe have long welcomed numerous Swedish labels like Acne, Tiger of Sweden, Cheap Monday, Nudie Jeans, Filippa K, and the fast-fashion chain H&M.

Ljung—another Swedish label, which, from now on, will conjure up an almost surreal image of a little boy from a small town who owned a huge dream!

Ljung is actually a tiny locality situated in the Västergötland province of southwest Sweden—home to a Marcus Larsson, who, nearly 20 years ago, dared to dream big.

The young lad soon learned, though, that turning dreams into reality requires more than just inspiration. To it, a designer must apply artistic expression and a great deal of motivation.

Dream finally became reality for Marcus in 2006, when the young designer founded his menswear line, naming it after his hometown—Ljung.

Based in Stockholm, Ljung caters to the multi-role existence of intelligent, successful men in today’s hectic world.

So at the next mention, what will Ljung of Sweden mean to you?
