After meeting at the Esmond Fashion School in Berlin, designers Julia Heuse and Ben Klunker graduated in 2006, going on to form their own unique label, which artistically fuses opposite forces in men's fashion into a dynamic equilibrium of styles.Conceived in the backroom of Ben’s Art Gallery, JULIAANDBEN combines what time has antiquated with something that time can only rejuvenate—menswear—in an all-new flagship store, JB-Space, which is located in Berlin’s art district, Mitte.
Aiming at a wearable, relaxed but chic men’s look, Julia and Ben achieve wholeness and symmetry in opposition, striking stylish harmony between classic and avantgarde, glamour and street, feminine and masculine.
Julia and Ben draw inspiration from everyday things that normally go unnoticed in life, such as a fleeting shadow on the ground, which conjures up conceptual shapes and feelings that later materialize in their collections.
Julia and Ben have entitled their 2009 s/s collection Beauty is My Boy; whereas, An Answer Becomes Slow and I Am Sad is the title of their 2009 a/w collection.
