I want to express my deepest sympathy to all those who have lost loved ones in the earthquakes that have struck the Abruzzo region in Italy this week.As a co-national, my heart is filled with sadness for the loss of hundreds of lives, as well as for the hundreds of thousands of individuals who are now left homeless.
I also want to express my gratitude to all those who demonstrated courage and bravery throughout the rescue effort; particularly, Italy's firemen, police, military, carabinieri, and volunteers.
